3D-printed to look like cartoon clouds with syrupy swagger, it defies logic, reason, and the entire footwear industry. Shoes? Technically.
Art? Maybe.
A snack? Definitely not—but try telling your brain that.

Codenamed "Waffleracers" the concept was seeded by a long time friend & now collaborator Phaniram Lalpet (Puma). 3D printed to look like cartoon clouds with syrupy swagger, it defies logic, reason and the entire footwear industry.
The design was inspired by the feeling of eating warm, fluffy waffles. The soft, squishy sensation of comfort. Bubbly volumes, organic contours, egg-shaped lattices defined the visual identity for bubbles.
The intent was to be explorative, weird and nonchalant. “DON’T BE TOO SERIOUS” or letting the inner child-like imagination run wild. Sketches were intuitive, using simple strokes to define a feeling, comfort every step of the way, a desire to make everything XXL. That’s what bubble waffles are to me, regular waffles that are juiced up.
