Ather has unveiled its Project Redux concept electric scooter, featuring a first-of-its-kind 3D printed seat designed and engineered by NOMOQ. Using flexible photopolymer resin and advanced computational design techniques, NOMOQ has combined performance, comfort, and aesthetics into a single, seamless solution.
At the core of the MESH Tech seat is a parametric lattice structure engineered for a high strength-to-weight ratio, allowing significant weight reduction without compromising durability or ride comfort. The lattice’s geometry was computationally optimized to achieve flexibility where needed and structural rigidity where it matters most.

By introducing variable lattice thickness, NOMOQ precisely controlled how different regions of the seat deform under load. This tuning ensures targeted compression for comfort while maintaining stability around mounting points and high-stress areas. The result is a balanced, supportive seating experience tailored to rider posture and pressure distribution.
The seat’s surface features a custom Delaunay triangulation-based skin formed from abstracted ATHER logo letters. Beyond adding a distinct visual signature, this computational skin design also enhances printability by minimizing unsupported overhangs and improving overall manufacturability.
Looking ahead, this technology also opens the door to future mass customization, where lattice stiffness and deformation patterns could be adapted to individual rider pressure data — enabling truly personalized comfort at scale.
